Pear, Fungus & "Black Jelly" Dessert

Dec 3, 2007

I boiled this dessert last Saturday. Actually it is an easy prepared recipe. However, it can be quite tedious as it required you to cut the pear in cube, white fungus & as well to soak & remove the impurities of the "black jelly". Btw, can anyone tell me what's the name of this black jelly please? I got it from the Chinese medicine hall & it is used commonly in Leng Chee Kang dessert.

It is a very cooling dessert for the hot weather. Hubby B loves it very much. Give it a try & I bet ur love one would love it.

Aiya.. the recipe is very easy. All u need to do is to cut the pear, soak the white fungus & also the black jelly (they called it as "Pong Tai Hai" in Hokkien). But make sure u clean the black jelly thouroughly la. Then boil the white fungus 1st. After boiling for about an hour, then add in the pear. The black jelly is to be added upon serving. I'll but for u if u want it. :)
