Do We Deserve A Thank You Note From Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad?

Everyone knows that The Loaf is owned by Tun Dr. Mahathir but not many knew that it has opened another branch in Pavilion KL. During the last week Liver Update Meeting in One World Hotel, our team has decided to give out Mini-U-Hu-Hu (Cheese Cup Cake) to all the participants who visited out booth.

The cakes are freshly baked and sent to us every morning. They were nicely packed in a box though some were crushed during the transfer. However, they are kind enough to replace to us. Good job!

We served the participants with difference flavour of U-Hu-Hu each day & the response was overwhelming! Wanna make a guess which is the best seller among the rest? It is the Durian U-Hu-Hu. Thanks to the chef's creative idea to cultivate our local favourite into the cake. So yummy-licious!

This should be our last team photo (aiya.... Datin Rachel was missed out here) as our company is ended the operation soon. Miss those moments in the company! Sigh........ Hey Tun, why don't give a scrumptious farewell dinner at The Loaf, Pavilion? :P

Bad Services from Honda

Honda cars are selling like hot cakes nowadays, especially City and Civic. We don't deny that their design is so much nicer compared to the rest of the competitors in the market. Hence, we are also one of their recent buyer for Civic.

Personally, this is my first time dealing with Honda. I was happy with my previous deal with Toyota and the sales person provided excellent services. So, I expect to get almost the same service from Honda and if not, a better one compared to Toyota. Why? Because I'm dealing with my cousin! However, it was sad to say that the service is totally lousy.

From the day we confirmed our booking via a deposit of 3k, we were told that we will be getting the car in a month time. Fine! That was why we chose Civic rather than City. A week before the arrival date, I called to follow up the status. Then I have been told that there will be a delay of 2 weeks in delivering our car. What? The SP did not even bother to inform their client about the delay! We have no choice but to accept the fact.

Secondly, I told the SP to book the numbers that I wanted. No calls from the SP for 2 days. So I thought their runner has successfully booked the numbers for us. Anyway, I made the effort to call up again to check. Again, the SP told me that the number has been taken by somebody else. I was so pissed off. Who shall be responsible for this? JPJ, the runner or the SP? God knows!

1.5 weeks before getting the car, the SP informed me that we will be getting our car on the 15th. So I went to pay for the balance of down payment just a week before getting the car. Upon getting the receipt, I reconfirmed with the SP that we will get the car as per the date committed. Oh my........ guess what he said? "Yes, the car will be arrived on 15th but need to register with JPJ. So the fastest I can collect the car is on 16th." OK. I can't do much but to accept it.

On 16th morning, I messaged the SP to confirm the time to collect my car. He replied that maybe I can collect my car on 16th evening and if not, 17th. When I saw his reply, I could felt that my heart is boiling till the max! So coincidentally, my Hubby also could not stand their non-commit attitude anymore! He lodged an official complaint to Honda HQ. Again, the HQ was playing "Tai Chi" & pushed the responsibility to their dealer.

This morning, I text the SP that I will collect my car at 1030. To my surprise, he told me that road tax is not issued yet. Logically, it will not take too long to issue a road tax. So I got my friend to send me down to Honda 45 mins later. I called him that I have arrived & as expected, he answered me that I can only get the car by 4pm. Does it need to take a day for road tax issuance? Then he said that the car has to go JPJ for registration and also they need to fix my car plate too. Hey I thought the JPJ registration was supposed to be done yesterday? For the car plate, why can't they fix it on the 15th or 16th? Why they have to rush till the last minute? Anyway, we have totally given them up. I only managed to collect the car by 545pm. Delay again!

Frankly speaking, we're totally disappointed with the services provided by Honda. If you take the times to google, many owners out there have complained about their poor services; be it the sales services or the after car sales services. A piece of advice that we wanna give to Honda. Please do not behave so arrogant just because your cars are on hot demand. You are in the service industry. So please count on the days you can survive with such attitudes! For sure, Honda is never in our reccomendation list anymore!

Quality Times

Last 2 weeks, Hubby and I spent some quality times together. He suggested to cook steak for dinner. I only contributed to the side dishes, which were grilled corn and boiled baby carrots.

This premier corn was bought from Jusco. RM 3.50. I grilled it with the husk on. I applied some olive oil, cayenne pepper & salt on it. Super yummy!

Hubby B marinated the beef in the afternoon. So he did the grill job after he was back from his football.

Our job done! It is dinner time!

See this medium rare done steak! I love it but BB only allowed me to take 2 or 3 bites only!

Haha... we finished all the food. Yummy yummy!

Lok Lok

We can only get this type of Lok Lok's van in the Klang Valley. Malacca's Lok Lok (satay celup) is a different version one. Anyway, I love both.

We were hunting for dinner on Tues. When we passed by the Melaka Raya area, we saw this van. BB knows that I love Lok Lok. So he suggested to have our dinner there. Hmmm..... eating in the street?? Don't we look "tam chiak" (greedy)? Is this enough for our dinner? I was a bit hesitate initially. However, we went for it finally.

Lok Lok's van offers a variety of food skewered on sticks with pots of boiling water and 3 types of sauce (sweet sauce, chili & satay sauce). Watch out for the chili and satay sauce! They are pretty spicy. Besides, they also grill and deep fried your food if you want to. We have just a few sticks and it costs us RM 18. It is quite expensive for Malacca's standard.

Overall, the food is quite nice and they are fresh. If you want to hold a party at home, please do not hesitate to contact them. They can drive to your home for a Lok Lok party.

I supposed to blog about my dinner with Hubby B at Elcerdo KL but my precious nephew, Kai Jun has placed a much more important role at this moment. I decided to blog about him after seeing the video clip that my SIL sent it to me.

I must admit that I was a little too harsh on him last Tues. It happened when he asked me a question.

"Ku Ku, spell your name!"

After I spelt my name to him, I got him to spell his name to me.

"Kai Jun."

"What about your surname?"

He looked at me innocently. I raised up my tone.

"You do not know your surname?"

Fine. I wrote on his book and wanted him to read alphabet by alphabet - LOH KAI JUN.

I made a condition to him that if he failed to read out his full name (without looking at the book), then he could not play the games in my iPhone already.

He read few times. Sometimes serious and sometimes playful. When I asked if he is ready for the challenge, he knodded his head.

"KAI JUN."

"Your surname? The first word in your name!"

He requested to look at the book again. Fine. Last chance and I told him to call me when he is prepared.

Again! "KAI JUN."

"Hey what is your surname? Gong Gong, PaPa, KuKu, SuSu & Lucas has it too."

He turned to my mum, his grandma to seek for help.

"Don't look at Ah Ma. She can't help you. Fine. No more iPhone for you!"

Suddenly, he cried out loud. He told me that he don't know! I scolded him. At the end, he slept with his tears and his milk bottle. I checked with his mum and realised that she has never taught him his surname before. Oops.... I have misunderstood him. I thought that he was taught before. I felt so bad after the incident.

I felt even hurt when I watched the clip just now. He is a smart boy. At his age - 3.5 years old, he can read a short story book.

"This is Brownie.

Brownie is a dog.

This is my dog.

I like my dog.

I like Brownie.

Oh No! (with full expression)

I like the dog but ........."

He pointed and read word by word. I wish that I could share the clip here but I failed to save it because of the programe problem. I feel terribly hurt with what I have done to him. I know that he doesn't blame me but I just like to apologise to him.

"I'm sorry, my precious!"

It is not easy raising up a child. Though I'm expecting now, I know that it is not going to be an easy journey. Throughout this journey, I'm sure that we will face lot of challenges & disappointment. It depends on how we shower our children with our love and patience. I might not be a good mother but I will try my best to learn and understand their needs.

Since BB knew that I was upset with the snake incident, he has invited me along to his trip to KL.

We decided to go to Elcerdo KL for dinner. This is a Spanish restaurant that served pork, pork and pork. I love pork, especially suckling pig. Since they are famous with that dish, we are definitely going to order half of it to try.

We parked our car at Pavilion KL. Since we do not really know where the restaurant is situated, we left the mall early. We walked for quite a distance. I have started to complain to BB that my foot are sore & I'm tired. We called up Kelvin for direction and we asked around too. Finally we found the place.

The ambiance there is nice. If you look around, you will notice that most of the tables are sure to order their specialty, suckling pig. We ordered a half suckling pig and also the highly recommended appetizer, air dried ham served with rock melon by Kelvin.

The ham is superb. We can't describe how tasty it is but it melted as soon as you put it into your mouth. We fall in love with it. The next day, we tried to look for this ham from most of the supermarket but sad to say that our mission failed. :(

Here come the suckling pig. It was pretty big portion for the 2 of us. Never mind la. Who care? Before it was cut, there is a small ceremony to be carried up. The waiter will ask the guest to participate in this "wish comes true" ceremony. So I was the honored one! I was given a plate. The waiter taught me to hold the plate and knock 3 times on the wooden chopping board where the roasted pig is served. Then I was asked to make a wish. Hehe... greedy me has made 2 wishes instead of 1. The waiter started the first chop with her plate. Then I followed with the 2 chops on the suckling pig's stomach. Once done, I have to break the plate as it symbolizes that my wish will come true. Everyone in the restaurant clapped. Haha... I felt great!

The pig was taken back to the kitchen for the rest of the chopping. The taste was plain and normal. So you must eat with the sauce that came with it. We concluded that the Chinese style suckling piglet is still the best. It is well marinated and meat is thin and crispy. Slurp slurp.....

We tried the Werner's Special dessert. Since our stomach has reached out the maximum capacity, we have requested the waiter to split the one portion dessert to two glasses. The wild raspberry sherbet is sour to me. But as you eat, you will get the slightly bitter chocolate which was hidden at the bottom of the glass.

The waiter served us 2 glasses of complimentary shot of lime juice, white wine and vodka upon asking for the bill. Since I can't drink, BB has drank it on my behalf. BB told me that the drink was refreshing & it is good for digestion after those oily food.

Well, the bill came up to be RM 300 for just the 2 of us. Hubby B, thank you for this scrumptious dinner.

Nyonya Style Popiah

In conjunction to Qing Ming, mum has cooked my favourite Nyonya Popiah for the prayer to our ancestors. This dish looks simple but in actual fact, the preparation is not an easy one. Lets see what are the ingredients needed.

The making of the Popiah skin (crepe). You need lots of patience when making this crepe. Haha... Only my Mum has this patience to do so. That's why I always appreciate her efforts in making this skin - Just for me! Thanks Mi!

The sweet sauce which was gotten from the market. The actual Nyonya sweet sauce supposed to be steam version. I recalled my auntie did it before.

The garlic chili.

The shredded turnip / Yam Beans which fried with minced pork and prawns.

The lettuce & coriander leaves.

Shredded cucumber.

Beansprouts. I remembered that when I was young, my grandmother asked me to tail the beansprouts whenever they wanna make Popiah. I disliked this assigned task because it was boring!

See! My nicely wrapped Popiah! I can't wait to put you into my mouth! Muahaha...

It is so juicy and delicious! I had a total of 6 popiah for today! BB said our baby must be complaining inside the womb. Haha...

Dad's 60th Birthday

Dad's birthday falls on Tuesday, 24th Feb. Due to it is a working day, we have planned for early celebration on 22nd Feb. We chose to have the steamboat at Golden Mansion Restaurant because it is Dad's favourite.

He enjoyed his crab stick so much. This is his favourite food now.

A chocolate cake from Singapore. Thanks to my MIL for sponsoring this cake. Hehe...

Tok Suk Gong

We have been visited to Tok Suk Gong several times. They serve nice and authentic Korean food. We went there again last 2 weeks.

I ordered my favourite Fried Seafood Pancake. Upon it was served, my instinct told me that the pancake for tonight is bad. It looked so oily. Besides, the BBQ pork was also poorly grilled. Somehow I told BB that they must have changed their chef. I asked the waitress and she acknowledged that they have changed their chef recently.

No wonder! I was so disppointed with the meal and doubt will ever return there again.

His First Attempt

BB likes to cook when he has the mood. However, his way of cooking is like Jamie Oliver. He doesn't follow the recipe and also the measurement. Whatever he think he likes, he will add. While for me, I prefer to follow the recipe so that nothing much can go wrong. So what has he cooked for us for the past 2 months?

He made this Ham for about a week. MIL helped to smoke the meat. It looks delicious and tempting right? The taste was quite ok except it was a bit salty.

He is cooking the ham now.

Ta da.... Caramel Pork. Slurp slurp!

Fried Garlic Pork. This taste marvelous too.

. His another first attempt in baking Marble Cheese Cake. He failed due to the cake was too sweet and the use of Kahlua in this recipe. Besides, he did not add in sour cream as well. However, he tried it again 3 days later. Hmm....... I must praise him that the cake is superb this time. It is as though as we are eating the creamy Marble Cheese Cake from Secret Recipe. Thanks for your hard work, BB!

Praying to The Heavenly King (Pia Tien Kong)

As usual, every family, especially the Hokkien will set the table for the prayer of Heavenly King on the 8th day of CNY. Though we are Cantonese, we also join the crowds for this once a year event. I like this day very much because this is like another reunion for the family and also the atmosphere is as happening as the preparation before the CNY.

I did not help out much this year. However, my efficient mum can also cope it very well. Hehe...

The table is set and is waiting for the prayer to start.

The so called money that supposed to burn to the Heavenly King. Mum did not fold and open up each piece of this money this year. Guess she must be tired.

My precious visited us on the 6th day of CNY. Being a beauty queen, Flame has successfully seduced him. Haha....

He has a fun time with us. He even refused to follow his mum to Jusco. So what did we do? while waiting for his mum? He played Nitendo Wii and I know that he likes it so much, especially the tennis game. Looking forward his next visit soon. :)

Bumbo Boys

Chin Nee and her family visited me on the 4th day of CNY. I have been reading a lot about the Bumbo Boys and finally I get to see them in person.

They are adorable. Initially I could not differentiate which is "Ko Ko" and which is "Di Di". After some times, I finally can recognize this twin. :)

Though it was just a short gathering, but thanks for dropping by my house, Chin Nee. We have known each other for about 19 years? Am I right?

Godzilla's House

During the 3rd day of CNY, we went to Godzilla's house. Woo... sound like a scary and adventurous visit huh. Haha........ No la! I always like to call my elder brother as Godzilla because he always look so strict and fierce. What to do? Being the eldest in the family. However, he is a good. Just that he doesn't show it to us.

3 months old. Luckily he was awake when we visited him. So we get to play with him for a while. I do not spend much times with him cause he is not taking care by my mum. But I cherish the moments when I see him.

Reunion Dinner @ Bukit Beruang

This is my first year having the reunion dinner with Hubby B's family. It was a nice and happy one. We had steamboat for dinner. So lets see what has we prepared. Some of the ingredients. Fish. Beef. A must have chili paste to go with the steamboat. Crab sticks. The favourite among the children. Varieties of vegetable. The elderly are waiting for the soup to boil. We have 3 tables for the night. Everyone is busy grabbing the food. Even Suzana is enjoying herself with us as well. Aiyo... when she doesn't get to eat, this is what she do......... Lots of washing for Suzana. Cousin Liang is listening to the lecture by Master of Alcohol. The ladies are busy painting their nails. I love this Ang Pao packet. Specially bought by FIL from China. The neighbourhood is lightning up to welcome the Year of Ox.

Reunion Dinner @ Ujong Pasir

We had an earlier reunion dinner since brother Godzilla & family will be going back to Pontian on the eve. This is the first year that mum has to prepare the dinner without my assistance. However she has done a good job! See what has she cooked for us.

My favourite Lobak from Mum. It is rolls of pork wrapped with bean curd skin and deep fried until crispy.

Braised pork with sea cucumber.

Glass Noodle. A special request dish from Hubby B.

Hokkien Stew Duck. It a bit too dry. Mum is stingy with the marinating ingredients. Guess she must learn to the Kungfu from my grandmother.

Steam Promphet with garlic. Two of the family members do not like this dish. The honour goes to Brother Godzilla & my Hubby B.

PoPo's Birthday

We went back to Seremban this evening for PoPo's birthday celebration. We had dinner outside as our aunties were have to travel back to PJ later. They are busy baking the Chinese New Year cookies.Soo Hui & Siu P. She asked me a very interesting question that night. She actually requested me to give her a niece rather than a nephew. She said our family has too many males already. Haha.... Soo Hui, baby boy or baby girl is doesn't matter to me as long as they are healthy. Don't you agreed with me? Anyway, it is Feng Ko Ko's XXYY to determine the sex of our baby. :P

I browsed the net and I found this website. Then I told BB that I wanna learn knitting. I even wanna go to buy the yarns & needles immediately. Then my MIL told me that Precious has it.

With the book, yarn, needles & youtube, I am starting my knitting journey from now onwards.

Have learned to cast on, knit & purl stitch.

BB teased me that I will take a year to knit him a scarf. Hmm.... don't "pley-pley" with me, ok. I am sure I will get it done for you in less than a year. Muahaha....

We celebrated Mummy's birthday today though her birthday falls on the 3-Jan. She does not like to dine out so Hubby & I have packed some food from Restaurant Peking. We made an early reservation & pick up the food about 7pm.

Peking Roast Duck. My favourite.

The duck meat was used to fried with ginger & spring onion.

Red Wine Pork Ribs. Delicious!

Fried Brussels Sprout with Coconut.

Beancurd Stuffed with Scallops. It was not cheap. RM 4/pc.

Poor Lucas. He must be wondering why he was not in the group. Lucas boy, don't worry. You will get to join us next year.

Though we are not Christian, we love to celebrate Christmas. In fact, I would say that this is my 2nd favourite festival besides Chinese New Year.

Did anyone of you attend the National Christmas Celebration at Portuguese Settlement on the 27th Dec? I did not join the party too but we made the effort to visit the village just before the Christmas bell rang.

They did not dress like the classic Santa anymore, especially their makeup. Most of the Santa were using face mask. Kind of scary. Santa is no longer adorable & friendly. :(

I remembered that I learned to anyam Ketupat from Suzana 2 years ago. However, I have already forgotten the steps.

My MIL has bought 50pcs of Daun Palas for this coming Hari Raya Haji. Hence, I decided to take down the steps of making the ketupat from Suzana for future reference. Hehe....

It is not very tough of making it but you must always make sure that you pass through the correct paths. Give it a try. It is very fun once you know it.

Everyone was so anxious to see the arrival of the little one. My SIL has delivered his second son on the 30-10-08 under the c-section procedure.

See this "big boy"! Guess he has a mild anxiety after knowing that he is becoming a elder brother soon.

Baby is smaller compared to his brother. His brother weight was at 3.6kg 3 years ago.

We visited to Qiubo once again. The popiah has finished when we arrived there about 11 a.m. So BB ordered for Laksa & I tried out their Mee Siam.

\We also asked for a plate of Pie Hat to try. Hmmm.... this dish goes extremely well with the chili. The pastry is crispy & fresh too. Must try it when you have the chance to visit Qiubo.

Look for Qiubo for authentic Nyonya breakfast!

My Birthday with Family

Mum prepared this 'Red Hard-Boiled Eggs' for me on 29-July. This tradition has been repeated years by years to all of us. Hope I can also prepare it for her next year.
Then 2 ang pao packets from Mum & Dad. I didn't wanna take it but mum insisted to. I didn't have the chance to thank Dad personally as he has already left to work.

Dad wrote his wishes on the ang pao. Ever since my 21 years old birthday, I did not receive any gift from Dad anymore. This is the first time I received his ang pao after 12 years. Maybe I'm getting married soon and he wanna send his wishes to me for this year. Anyway, I text him a thank you note.

My elder brother spent me a scrumptious dinner at Tuk Suk Gong. Before we left to the restaurant, I called up Dad. He said he will be back soon. It was 7pm and he was still not back yet. I knew he was drinking with his friends & won't made it for the dinner already. We waited for another half an hour & we decided to go without him. He called me up asking where we heading to for the dinner. I told him the place & he replied me that he didn't like Korean food. Hence, he was not joining us for dinner. Well, I was disappointed with his reply. For me, the food is not important. If he will to come back early and told us that he wanted a Chinese cuisine, we will change the venue. I just wished that we can have a good quality of get together times before I'm marry.

Following are the side dishes served during the dinner. It was most of less the same as per my last visit.

This pancake is very delicious.

Ginseng Chicken Soup. It wasn't as per my expectation.

Korean Glass Noodle. The chef cooked it just nice & it was very yummy.

Seafood pancake. It was very crunchy. Mum said she wanted to try out this dish.

My Birthday with Hubby B

On 25th July, BB came in to the room & gave me this present. Hmm....... he made the effort to wrap my birthday's present! I'm amazed! Haha.... Throughout our years together, he has never wrapped any of my presents himself. All were done by the shop people. Though the wrapping is a bit simple but I really appreciated his hard work.

He has asked me to guess the present inside this box. I shook it, I felt it but I couldn't figured out what was the surprise. A watch? An iPhone? The latest model of bluetooth? Wrong, wrong, wrong! I gave up! BB teased me for not guessing the surprise correctly. :(

I unwrapped the paper & it was a Wii controller. Oh no....... my dream gadget. Since we played it during our stay at Pulau Tenggol in June, I kept on teasing him that I wanted a Wii for my birthday present. He has fulfilled my dream. Thanks BB.

Anyway, I think that I didn't fail to guess the present. It was cunning BB that only wrapped the controller up. If he has given me the whole set, I would definitely guess it correctly. Hahaha...

We enjoyed playing Wii together, especially the tennis & bowling games. What a good form of exercise without exposing under the sun. ;p

Since BB couldn't be with me during my birthday, we only had the celebration on 1st Aug. We went to Secret Recipe for dinner & also for the cakes.

I brought BB to this new coffee shop for breakfast. Most of the stall owners are Baba Nyonya. So you can get authentic Nyonya cuisine from this shop. They have Mee Siam, Laksa, Pie Tee, Popiah, Ponteh, Mixed Vegetables, etc.

Laksa. BB commented that the laksa is delicious.

Popiah, my favourite. The wrapper is different from the normal Popiah because it has added the egg into the batter for a softer & moisture texture.

We went to Asian Havana Cafe for dinner tonight. It was a simple meal as we both were quite full actually.

Since we didn't follow our parents back to Seremban tonight, BB & I have gone to Bukit Baru to buy some durians for supper. Everyone in the family including Flame loves this tropical fruit very much. Can you imagine that we have been eating durians for the past few weekends. I think my weight is shooting high!

Tok Su Gong Korea Restaurant

We had our dinner at Tok Su Gong Restaurant last night. Ever since the first time my FIL brought us there, we have fell in love with this Korean cuisine. So we decided to visit there for the second time.

As usual, we were served with few side dishes. Upon finished it, you may request for the second plate & it is non-chargeable. Great isn't it?
I particularly like this Steamed Egg on Stone Pot.
This is the stove. Luckily we do not need to cook the meat. The waitress did a good job. Green Chili Cuts & Garlic. They goes along with the lettuce, cucumber, carrot & of course the BBQ meat.Want a bite?After the main course, we were served with the Korea's Barley Tea, a plate of snack (I love it very much) & few slices of watermelon. Upon paying your bill, the waitress also rewarded us with few pieces of Korea's chewing gum & Ginseng candies.

Manekineko Japanese Restaurant @ Melaka Raya

We went for Japanese food again for our dinner. Haha.... my beloved manager, Bern is sure to complain again. We just addicted to Japanese cuisine.

This place is just directly opposite Izakaya Kushi Masa. Upon entered into the restaurant, we only noticed a table of Japanese men there. So we told ourselves that the food served must be quite authentic & nice, else we won't be seeing these people around.

They use the fortune cat as the signboard so that they could attract more customers to their restaurant.

How can we miss Hiyayakko for our meal. I'm going to try this dish one day.
4 pcs of Kaki Furai (Breaded & Deep Fried Oysters). The oyster is fresh & they managed to fry it just nice without drying the juicy oysters.
2 tiny pieces of Saba Shioyaki (Grilled Mackeral).
Soft Shell Crab Hand Roll. If the chef can add more vinegar & mayonnaise, it will taste even nicer.
Here is the bill. Is your eyes popping out? Well, Hubby B & I concluded that the price charged by the restaurant is expensive. However, the food served is quite authentic & yummy.

Dungun & Kuala Terengganu 31st May - 1st June, 08

It was drizzling when we were driving to meet the rest of the friends at Gombak Toll. I never been to Batu Cave & the huge golden color statue attracted me. It took us 4 hours to reach Dungun. So we arrived at Liang Hock's parents house about 630pm. Their house is nice. They have a Nitendo Wii room. We fell in love with Wii. Hehe... His mum prepared a scrumptious dinner for us. We were served with crabs, squibs, prawns, fish, pork, vegetables, etc. After a few round of the Wii games, I decided to have an early night. BB & his buddies enjoyed gambling & drinking at the garden.

Before we left to Pulau Tenggol, we had another delicious meal from Liang Hock's mum. She cooked their local specialty, Nasi Minyak for our breakfast. We even packed it for our lunch.
We rent a speed boat to Pulau Tenggol. Hubby & I had an exciting 30 minutes journey there. Why? Because we were sitting at the front seat of the boat. No choice lor. The rest are with their kids, so we gotta sacrifice ourselves. However, it was really fun. Since I can't swim, I have stayed at the beach with Chew's daughter & wife & Siew Fen too. However, I did go for a not so far 'snorkeling' with BB too. The gals are enjoying themselves.

I had a mild argument with BB. When the boat man rode us to the a 15ft deep sea, I managed to dip into the sea by holding the bar. Hey I could see the sea world. Actually I was quite proud of myself as this was my first step to take such a big courage to do so. I thought BB will give me some word of encouragement. Who knows he kept on teasing me "kiasi" (coward)! I felt so irritated & I totally shut myself off from him. Due to self-esteem problem, I decided not to hold him while on our way back with the boatman. It was rather scary as the boat was quite bumpy. Anyway, I made it throughout the journey. ;-P

Everyone slept early during the night! Poor Hubby & Chew were not able to drink that night.

The next morning, we departed to Kuala Terengganu. It was about 1.5 hours journey. We had a short visit to Crystal Mosque as the weather was super hot. Nothing fancy but we think it should look much more beautiful at night.
Then we went to this Perkampungan Keropok Lekor at Lesong (Fish Sausages Village). It a village where you could see many stalls selling this Fish Sausage. Surprisingly, all the stalls are full with customers. Liang Hock told us that the local Chinese named it as "Kao Sai" (dog shit). Er....... actually it looks quite like it. :-) We bought a frozen pack home to try.
Then we went to their local market. They eat turtle eggs. Isn't it cruel?
This is the boiled one.And this is the raw one. Oh disgusting! I better leave the stall!

We went to a local restaurant for lunch. Liang Hock's cousin ordered so much food for us. As it is the squib season now, we definitely can't resist this grilled squib!Their Rojak Ayam. Something special & it tastes good.
He got stung by the sea mites while snorkeling. I had few on my legs but it weren't a serious one.

Overall, the trip was a good one. We both had a mild sunburn.

Claypot Rice

I have forgotten where is this place situated but should be somewhere around Damansara Jaya. Must checked with Hubby first.

Just before we left to Dungun, BB brought me to this restaurant for lunch. I was a bit doubt of it as the restaurant was empty. We have ordered Salted Fish & Chicken Claypot Rice, Tom Yam Claypot Rice & 2 bowls of Winter Melon Soup.

While waiting our food to be served, I noticed the customers started to enter to the restaurant group by group. Hmm..... the rice must be nice then.

This Salted Chicken Claypot Rice is yummylicious. I don't know how to describe the taste but I guess the shredded onions perfected it.

The Tom Yam Claypot Rice was a bit salty. So BB has helped to finish it up.
The Winter Melon Soup is tasty. Slurrp.....we finished it all.

Izakaya Kushi Masa

We went for food hunting tonight. As we were driving around the Melaka Raya area, we decided to hop in to this Japanese Restaurant for our dinner. It located at Jalan PM4, Plaza Mahkota, Melaka Raya.

The moment we entered the restaurant, we saw a group of Japanese. They were enjoyed their meal & drink there. Hmm... the food here must be good & authentic, else how could they had so much! The menu are sticked on the wall. All are in Japanese handwriting. Luckily, the waitress there is very helpful. She is cute & friendly. She recommended a lot of yummy dishes for us.
The chef is busy grilling the order placed by the customers. There is another chef too. We think they are brothers because they have the same built. :) Maybe he went to grab himself a drink as the cooking place can be very stuffy & hot.
Maguro Sashimi. The serving is pretty big & they only charged for RM 15 per plate. Feel like ordering another plate. Hehe...
Grilled Terriyaki Chicken Wing. They deboned it so nicely. A very thoughtful preparation from the chef. Thanks.

Hiyayakko. Though it is a plain & simple dish but we just fell in love with it.

This is a special type of sushi that I have never tried before. Nice!Japanese's Cocktail. It is sake with plum. Kind of diluted & I don't taste the plum. So I requested for additional plum. It tasted much better.

Not that expensive right? We'll be back!
BB had 2 glasses of sake. He must be a bit blur till he hit the brick at the corner of the road. See the tyre has torn!
Poor BB. Gotta change the tyre. Too bad, I can't help much. Anyway, I pampered him with a stick of apple yogurt ice cream after that.

P/S: BB told me a secret while we had our ice-cream at 7-11. Shh......

We had our Parents' Day celebration tonight @ Teo Soon Loong Restaurant. It was a scrumptious meal but I think it wasn't priced reasonably. The bill came up to be RM 260. Is it worth paying?
Oyster Noodle. Stir-fried Vegetables with Chinese Sausage.Teochew Steamed Promphet.
Pork Roll. Nothing great. I still prefer mummy's version. I would like to highlight that this pork roll cost about RM 40. Darn expensive right? He has 2 billings for this dish. One is the pork roll & another is the beancurd. When we asked the boss, he claimed that the beancurd is one of the pork roll ingredient. Acceptable explanation?? Stewed Pork Ribs Wrapped in Bittergourd.Salted Baked Crab.Dragon Fruit & Pineapple Ice Blended from Eha. Very refreshing drink.

We did order the "O-Ni" (Yam Dessert) for after meal dessert. Everyone loves it except me. Hehe...... cause I'm not a Yam lover.

Since it is a holiday today, we went to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for breakfast. I always miss the Cameron Highland's scone very much. Without much hesitation, I ordered a set to try. Hmm...... so nice!

She was a beauty queen before and yet BB & I had ruined her title from now on. Her confidence level must be dropped till negative. Sorry Flame! We didn't mean to hurt you but we merely wanted to protect you from the extremely hot weather now. Moreover, with the construction works which is on-going now, we do not wanna mess you up further.

Poor Flame, please do not worry of your look now. I believe you will become even more prettier just before our wedding. Trust us, ok! ;-)

Breast Self-Examination (BSE)

To the ladies out there, please ask yourself a question. Do you self-examine your breast? I didn't do it previously as I worried that I might discover something from the examination. Yes, I'm running away from reality or you may simply call me silly. However, thing has changed after my I did a lymphatic massage on Tuesday. I must admit that the lady boss is very experienced & she is skillful. Her hands ran through my breasts first. Then I noticed that her hand kept on circulating on my left breast. I sensed something wasn't right. As expected, she told me that she could felt a lump on my left breast. What a shocking news to end my day!

Then I started to google for breast cancer information once I was back home. I felt so worrisome after reading all the articles. Then I decided to turn off my notebook. I do not wanna read it anymore. Maybe it was nothing serious!

It was sad to say that I have a sleepless night. The lump was a nightmare to me. I drove to Seremban with a disturbing mind. I checked from Chloe who has her cyst aspirated before. Ee Ting who has wrongly self diagnosed also advised me to check with my O&G before jumping into the conclusion. So I rushed back to Pantai Ayer Keroh after half a day work.

Dr. Vishnu who is my O&G thought I come for womb check up again (Haha... I tend to check my womb every 6 months ever since I had my chocolate cyst removed in Jan 2007). Guess I am too 'kiasi'! Then I told him my problem. He has a thorough check on my 2 breasts. He even followed through with a ultrasound scan. Then he was pleased to tell me that there isn't any lump or cyst found in my left breast. It was just the enlargement of my breast lobule. Phew.... what a relief!

I have not been blogging my lovely nephew for quite sometimes. He has grown up a lot & he is much sensible now. His mum is expecting her second baby. He knew & he can't wait to be a "Ko Ko" (brother) soon. When we asked who is in her mum's stomach, he answered "Di Di" (little brother) & sometimes "Mei Mei" (sister). Whatever the sex of the baby, you are a big boy now & you should know to love him / her as we love you.

I bought him this set of Tee & Bermudas while I was working in Batu Pahat. Though it is double his actual size, I just can't stop myself from buying it. I know he will love it.

Since 15-Apr was a state holiday, I have promised to bring him to McD for breakfast & then to the newly opened Melaka Mall. Mum supposed to join us but turned us down last minutes. Grandma complained of gastrointestinal discomfort & she gotta bring her to see a GP. Does a big boy need his mum to feed him? I hate the weather nowadays. It is so hot & dry. Since it was a boring afternoon, these were what I did! Flame in action! Haha... She was caged under the table & she failed to hide away from the camera. Suzanah was plucking the coconuts.She couldn't wait to taste the refreshing juice.

Our Dinner

The night before Labour's Day, we had our dinner at Friend's Cafe, Melaka Raya. Okonomiyaki - one of my favourite Japaneses pizza.
We were thinking of eating light meal. So Cesear Salad is definitely one of our choice. Crunchy & refreshing.

We did have Turkey Ham Sandwiches but I didn't take down the picture. However, we failed to finished the food. Maybe we were stressed with this Friday pre-wedding shooting. :)

Oprah Winfrey & Dr. Mehmet Oz are irresistible. My butt just stuck on the sofa from this morning till 4pm. Their "Mind & Body" Talk Show is so interesting & informative. Even my FIL also joined me for the show.

Dr. Oz has his new way of thinking medical cares. He would combines Western & Eastern techniques for treating diseases. What I like about him is that he makes living healthy & sounds like so much fun. Moreover, his ideas are easy & doable.

Do your kids run screaming when they see veggies? Is it because vegetables are not as sweet as fruit? I believe most of the mothers are having hard times to feed their children with vegetables.

There was an experiment carried out in a classroom. When the teacher asked what are the veggies that the children hate the most, you can hear all sort of reply from the floor. From spinach, carrot, broccoli, cauliflowers, and so on. Then, the teacher brought out the chicken nuggets, brownie, macaroni & pizza to the class, it finished in just a minute. Upon revealing the ingredients of each food, the children was shock. How could the veggies that they hated the most are found in their favourite food?

My so-called sister, Liza Loh just came from her Western Europe trip. She showed me her lovely photos & I immediately fall in love with the flowers in The Keukenhof Garden. The flowers, especially the tulips are beautiful. Believe it or not, just scroll through the pictures & you will fall in love as well.

Apart from the beautiful pictures, she has bought me a lovely present for my wedding. Yes, it is a a Swarovski pendant. The picture taken was not very cleared. I will take a better shot soon. Anyway, thanks for this lovely pressie from a lovely woman. I will definitely love to travel to this lovely garden one fine day. :-)

Asparagus Pee

I love asparagus, especially the Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Bundles prepared by Hubby B. However, I also dislike to go to the toilet after having asparagus. Why??? Because BB & I will get this distinctive smell in my pee.

I googled last night & I found the answer. According to the expert, this is not a sign of a disease. In fact, it's a good news that our kidneys are perfectly functioning. Reason being is because asparagus is filled with sulfur-containing amino acids which break down after our ingestion. Please take note that only 40% of the people with proper gene can smell this special odor. Wow... so Hubby & I are the few special one!

Jo-N's 'house warming party' was fantastic. Her house is full of love. For those who has visited her house, I bet you will agree with me that she is a woman that loves children & she is loved by everyone as well.

The party started with yummylicious buffet. We just can't stop ourselves taking the finger licking food from the tables. After the scrumptious buffet, we are filled with a series of games. Laughters were spread in every corner of the house.
Besides the food & games, we also received award from Jo-N as well. Wow... this was like my company's annual dinner & dance night. :) Thanks for everything, Jo-N.

Earth Hour 2008

After our yoga class this evening, Caroline told us that the world will be celebrating Earth Hour on March 29, 8pm. This event was started by Sydney, Australia in year 2007. However, due to the increasing awareness in the global warming issues, this event has been declared as a world event now!

So what can you contribute from 8-9pm tomorrow? It is simple. Just turn off all the lights & unused appliances for just an hour, irregardless what you are doing at that hour! If everyone is doing it, can you imagine how much of energy we have conserved after 1-hour?

Who Is The Culprit?

We both suffered from food poisoning yesterday. BB was the first victim. He thrown out twice after we came back from Jusco. This is the first time I'm seeing him so weak. His fever attacked him on & off. He refused to take any food. I gave him a yogurt & he couldn't even finished it. He was dehydrated & he has asked me to make him a glass of Ribena (100 Plus was too gassy for him at that moment). Then he took 2 paracetamol & rested till the next morning. While for me, I had diarrhea. But the attack was after my dinner. Can you imagine that I bombed the toilet for 4 times? Anyway, I take it as a detox. :p

So lets investigate who is the culprit that caused us to suffer so much, especially my Hubby B!

On 19-03-08, Wednesday, we had our dinner at Simply Fish, Melaka Raya. It has been a long long times that we didn't eat their Oysters. We ordered half a dozen to try first.
The waitress told us that the Oysters are freshly flew from New Zealand. It tastes just nice & we think it can be better.
A bowl of mushroom soup. It came in time as the weather is freezing cold out there. A regular plate of Seafood Supreme to share with BB. The waitress suggested us to take a large one since we only ordered one main course. Hehe.... Ms. Waitress, we are small eater.

On 20-03-08, Thursday, after the bridal shops hopping, we decided to cool ourselves with the desserts at Jonker Walk. Chloe & Gladys, I finally get to eat it. Haha....
BB ordered a bowl of Mango Red Beans Ice Kacang. I chose Sea Coconuts Red Beans Ice Kacang. Yummy Yummy. We also ordered a bowl of Nyonya Asam Laksa. It tastes extremely sour & it does not have prawn paste to go with it. I think Penang Laksa still tastes the best.

On 21-03-08, Friday, I have been given 2 choices for breakfast. It is either Uncle John or Malim's Hong Chai Yong Tau Foo. Since we have Yong Tau Foo on Thursday, I opted for Uncle John. It was a weekday & maybe it was still early, the shop is quiet.Ice Ipoh White Coffee for Hubby B.I prefer a cup of Hot Ipoh White Coffee.Nishin Noodles with Egg & Sausage.2 soft boiled omega eggs please!
Toast Kaya Butter Breads. My favourite Thick Toast Peanut Butter with Milk. I also like their Thin Toast Peanut Butter.

I have revealed what we have been eaten for the past 3 days. So it is your turn to make a guess now!

There were 4 birthday celebration in past 3 months. I have decided to consolidate these 4 lovely celebrations in a slide presentation.

Mum's birthday (3-Jan) : We have a small party at home. I bought a cake for mum. We also surprised her with a bangle. She was happy but as usual, she told us that we should not waste money buying present for her.
Brother's birthday (23-Jan) : This the most simplest celebration. He has told us not to buy him any cake. As a remembrance, Ee Ting & I bought him a bottle of Issey Miyake's perfume.
Dad's birthday (24-Jan) : Dad's birthday fall on my registration day. However, we were busy & we have postponed his celebration to the next day. We went to Golden Mansion Restaurant for dinner & we invited Grandma along too. After the dinner, we went back home for another birthday celebration. I bought the fruit flam from Italy bakery. Kai Jun was excited with this cake when he saw his favorites strawberries on it. They bought for dad a teapot. Brother & I given Dad an 'ang pao' on his birthday already.
Pa's birthday (15-Mar) : Hubby B is a shoes lover, so he will always suggest to buy a pair of running shoes for Pa. We got it from Nike. The design is simple but the color is a flaming red. Pa will definitely look 20 years younger with this pair of running shoes. I ordered a Bailey Cheese Cake from Asian Havana. As described by Jason, this pure cheese cake really melted in your mouth. After having the yummylicious chicken rice, I brought the birthday cake out. Everyone enjoyed the cakes very much. However, Ma & Suzana didn't seem to like it very much because they are not a cake lover. :p

I stopped by Popular bookstore the other day. Initially, I thought of getting some bedroom design magazines. Then this book cover page caught my attention. "What happens after the 'happy ever afters'?

Since I'm legally married & I wanna have a in-depth understanding in this topic, I immediately grabbed this book from the counter. Frankly speaking, relationship is an art & is a never ending learning process. I learned a lot from John Gray 3 years ago. The great news is our relationship is the super duper one. Haha... I don't deny that we have disagreement sometimes but we both handle it well.

Guess with this book, I can learn even more from Debby Holt. Bye now.... I'm going to enjoy my marriage! Do you?

Guess I should honour it to Sony Ericsson X1. I always like SE phone, mainly of the design & also the quality. This is the first window mobile phone from SE. It shall be launched in this Q3. I think this phone will easily price at RM 3k and above. So, I will wait till the price drop! Hehe...
How about my second dream gadget? Hmmm.... I really can't think of any now. Maybe I should stop thinking also. Do not wish to waste too much money on all these gadgets. :)
